Swiss Tax Rate Policy

[Swiss] Tax Rate Policy Update Notification:

Local customs regulations will be adjusted starting from January 1, 2025, with the main updates as follows:

1. Duty Tax and VAT Rates

(1) Adjustment Details:

    · The tax name will change: "Duty Tax" will be renamed to "Import Tax".

    · The VAT collection standard will be adjusted: VAT will remain at 8.1%.

(2) Policy Explanation:
For parcels sent to the same recipient in one day, if the declared value is less than 62 CHF, they will temporarily continue to enjoy tax-free privileges. However, if the cumulative declared value reaches or exceeds 62 CHF, customers will need to pay the associated VAT and import tax. VAT will be charged based on the declared value at 8.1%, and import tax will be determined according to the local customs standards.

2. Requirements for VAT Account Registration

    ·  For annual sales exceeding 100,000 CHF on the Swiss platform, businesses must register for a Swiss VAT number to facilitate direct VAT payment to Swiss customs.

    ·  Swiss buyers and sellers must provide complete VAT registration information, including UID and CSP (Deferment Account Reference Number). The format of the UID is as follows: CHE - 123.456.788.

If you fail to provide VAT registration information, this may result in customs clearance delays, increased tax costs, or repeated tax payments. Please ensure that your VAT number is processed promptly to avoid unnecessary issues.

If you have any questions, please contact our customer service via email at [email protected]. Thank you!
